Be humble!

NIV Mark 1:9 At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

It is written in Isaiah "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way." A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' The messenger is John the Baptist and Jesus is the Messiah. Even though John was preaching and baptizing people at that time, he told others "After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." John knows his position though many people like and support him, he humbly speaks the truths to the crowd that he is only the messenger to prepare the way for Jesus.

NIV Mark 1:9 "At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan." Now we all know that Jesus is more powerful and Holy than John, but still, Jesus is very humble, He comes to John and asks for his baptism with water. He chooses to walk with us and experience all the things in our form- being human. He humbly preaches the Gospel and we should learn from Him!

Father, thank you for teaching us to be humble. We are weak and absent-minded as we always forget Jesus' teachings and the Holy Spirit's warnings inside us. Help us to renew our faith in you and strengthen our will to obey your instructions. Amen!
