Sovereign Lord, you are God!

NIV 2 Samuel 7:28 Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.

Despite David has sinned against God, God still loves Him. One day when David told Nathan the prophet that he wants to build a temple for God. At first, Nathan agrees with David's suggestion, but later that night God's word came to him and ask him to tell David the work needs to be done by his son instead of David. Knowing his son and descendant will be the king of Israel, David praised the Lord: NIV 2 Samuel 7:28 "Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant."

How would you respond to Nathan's prophecy if you were David? Will you keep praising God for His forgiveness of your sin and unlimited providence to you and your family as David did? Some people think David is the luckiest one since he was only a shepherd's son in the past. But in God's eyes, David is the chosen one and He got the whole plan for him and his descendants before David was born. And so do us, when the time comes, we need to be prepared and praise God for the amazing works He does for us!

Father, thank you for forgiving our sins. We come before you to repent for our wrongful actions. Bless us with the wisdom from you so that we can refrain from opening a door for evil and know that you are good to us all the time. Amen!
