Money is a necessary evil, we need it to buy food from store to maintain our life. But God told us in NIV Proverbs 23:4 "Do not wear yourself out to get rich, do not trust your own cleverness." Do not devote all of you time to get rich, as to the end of the day or in other word, when we die, we can't bring anything including money with us. We need to trust in God's providence to us and work for Him.
The author of the verse also reminded us not to trust our own cleverness, we should seek for Godly wisdom instead. As God told us in many scriptures, His wisdom is higher than human wisdom, only He can see everything through. We can't predict what will happen tomorrow, if we rely solely on our cleverness, we will get hurt someday.
Father, thank you for reminding us not to chase for money. Give us what we need everyday so that we don't need to worry about how to get more money for survival. We prayed in Jesus' name, Amen!
