As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

NIV Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

We tend to hang around with people who have similar values and ideas with us. Being with like-minded people makes us feel relaxed and we can have lots of fun. NIV Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." God wants us to accommodate people in different views, interests, experiences and opinions to our own. In that way, we can learn and grow from each other. Through fellowship, causal chats or gathering, we can sharpen one another.

I used to think it was good enough for me to attend the sermon and leave the church after the priest's blessings. I did not join any cell group and so my spiritual maturity stays at the baby stage. But God wants me to grow and He leads me to join the bible study fellowship group. After sharing and praying for each other, God strengthens our trust in Him. Whenever we feel frustrated or go astray, our brothers and sisters in the church can always bring us back to the right track via prayers. Fellowship and unity are important to our spiritual growth.

Lord, thank you for sending spiritual brothers and sisters to walk with us in your words. Please help us to sharpen one another so that we can grow in faith. We prayed in your son's Holy name. Amen!
