Serve one another and you will be blessed!

NIV John 13:17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

I am sure we are all familiar with the famous scene-- Jesus washed His disciples' feet before the Passover Festival. During the evening meal, Jesus knew that it was the time He needed to leave the world and return to God, so He got up from the meal and washed His disciples' feet. He wanted to act as a role model for the disciples so that they can serve the world after His ascending to Heaven. He said in NIV John 13:17 "Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." Although all of us know we need to be humble, selfless and to serve one another, we can never live these truths with God's merciful help. The value and blessing of this principle can only be realized by those who do it!

Paul was the living proof of this principle, He said in NIV Acts 20:35 "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" He devoted his whole life to serve God and others, he was blessed by God and so he had happiness and satisfaction even though he suffered for God.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your guidance on finding an opportunity to serve one another. Fill our hearts with love and courage to serve others. Help us to turn impossibles into possibles. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen!
