Seek the Lord!

NIV Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility, perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger.

We all know that the process of change usually starts from insides to outsides and changes originate from hearts. In the old days, Zephaniah the prophet saw this principle through and he knew what changes Judas need the most.  What drives Zephaniah to have such insight? The answer is in NIV Zephaniah 2:3 "Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility, perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger."

God used King Josiah to carry out necessary legal reforms and called the people to cooperate, however, to reform the people, He used Zephaniah's gift to call the people to reflect and repent. We have the most sensitive insight into things that we have gifts and interests and our insight is more active when we explore various possibilities. To know what we can do for God in the world, we need to know what gifts we have from God. When you identify your gifts, do not keep it to yourselves only, but use them to serve others.

Lord, thank you for giving different gifts to us. We may not know what gifts we have at the moment, but we know you will reveal them to us when the right moment comes. Guide and lead us to use our gifts to preach your Gospel to the world and serve others. Amen!
