God is our potter!

NIV Romans 9:21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

In recent years, a so-called concept "Winning at the starting line" has been emerged among different groups. Some people blamed their parents for giving birth to them in a poor family. But God tells us in NIV Romans 9:21 "Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?", God has His intended purposes and plans for us. No matter we are born in a rich or poor family, God is in control and He deliberately put us there.

Before God creates a piece of pottery, He has a plan for the shape and texture of the finished good. There are different ingredients in the clay when our potter makes the pottery, our skin tone, hair colour, the original family are some examples of the ingredients. In the pottery-making process, we will be shaped by the hands of God. We have peaks and troughs in lives and we may go astray if we choose to sin against God. We will become out-of-shape during the shaping process, but God will correct us with His plans and hands gently until God the potter think we are the pottery that He expects- we become a useful vessel of God.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for shaping us to the intended purpose of our life. Take away our frustration and disappointment and give us stronger wills in faith. Help us to obey your instructions with all our hearts. We prayed in Jesus' name, Amen.
