Remember the Lord our God is who gives us the ability to produce wealth!

NIV Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he sore to your ancestors, as it is today.

After God let the people of Israel leave Egypt, God intended to send them to the promised land Canaan. Due to the disbelief of the people, they exiled in the wilderness for forty years. But God did not forsake them, He fed them with manna and taught them that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell during those forty years. God wants them to give up the slave mentality, reborn and become a new person who can live freely in Him. They paid the price and took some hard work to understand the truth- for those who are willing to believe and obey God's words can rely on God's faithfulness and almighty power to enter into the promised land.

God does not want His people to become arrogant and self-destructive after living in Canaan. So He warns them in NIV Deuteronomy 8:18 "But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he sore to your ancestors, as it is today."  Everything we have today is from God, only Him has the ability to give and take away it. We are incapable and do not deserve to enjoy the things we have in our hands because of our sins. But God is merciful, He wants to give us the best, so He sent His only son Jesus to save us. We need to keep it in mind that we do not own anything in the world, but by faith, God gives it to us!

Father in heaven, thank you for preparing the promised land for us. We know that when the time comes, we will all live there and enjoy the abundant providence from you. Soften our hearts so that we can listen to your words and obey your instructions. We prayed in Jesus' name, Amen!
