Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God!

NIV Luke 4:2 Where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them, he was hungry.

In Maslow's hierarchy of needs, human needs are categorized into 5 basic needs, namely Physiological Needs, Safety Needs, Social Needs, Esteem Needs, and Self-Actualization. In which, food and shelter fall on the foundation of the pyramid of needs. NIV Luke 4:2 Where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them, he was hungry.  Jesus is God's son and He has chosen to come to the earth in human form. When He was led by the Holy Spirit to the wildness for forty days, Satan was there to tempt Him. Jesus fasted and did not eat or drink anything for forty days, human needs seem to take Him down a bit-at the end of the forty days and nights, he was hungry.

But it is not true, Jesus was not beaten by Satan's temptation or you might say it is a kind of agitation to prove He is the son of God. He said, "it is written that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." When we submit ourselves to God, our life is sustained by God's divine blessing and that supersedes the basic human needs.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your divine blessing and unfailing promises to give us eternal life. Strengthen our will and faith in you via your words so that we can resist Satan's temptation. Amen!
