Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

NIV Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

How often do we call on God's name? You might say quite often as we will do it at the end of our prayers, during the sermon, or when we are in danger. NIV Acts 2:21 "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Peter told us when we acknowledge God and call on His name, we will receive His salvation. 

But we need to be aware of what said in NIV Exodus 20:7 "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name." We need to be careful not to misuse God's name or use his name in vain as God is Holy and it is His command for us to fear God but not others. 

Father in Heaven, thank you for saving us from sins through Jesus' sacrifice at the cross. Forgive us if we have misused your name before and help us to fear you but not others. In your son's Holy name, Amen!
