NIV 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come the old has gone the new is here

Having said that only God has the power to change a person, other people can make some influence on him/her. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come the old has gone the new is here." Paul told us to abandon the old us and become a new person in Christ. Have you quit the habit of blaming others when things go wrong? If you haven't, you should repent! And do not be afraid of being punished by God if you have sinned against Him before. In Him, you are a new person with God's image, we are Holy and righteous.

Jesus told us in NIV Luke 9:23 "Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." No matter how good or bad our lives are before following Jesus, we need to change ourselves to be more like Jesus to claim ourselves as His disciples. Everything in the past has been forgiven and forgotten, what we need to do is to live in present and focus on God.

Father, thank you for forgiving our sins and we know that we don't deserve your love. Help us to submit ourselves to you and walk with Jesus. Amen!
