Idolatry is a sin in God's eyes, NIV Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Money and false idols are examples of Idolatry.
God is a jealous God, He hates Idolatry. In NIV Exodus 20:23 "Do not make any gods to be alongside me, do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold." , in the old days, God's wrath came to Israelite who created golden calf and worshiped other idols.
Father in heaven, thank you for being our one and the only one God in the world. Deliver us from evil so that we can put our eyes merely on you. We prayed in Jesus' name. Amen
