NIV James 3:10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
Having said that words can either heal or kill, our tongue can spread God's love instead of cursing people, so why don't we praise others more often? James kept on warning us to control our tongue, he said in NIV James 3:10 "Out of same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be." We all know that God does not want to serve two masters, we can't praise God and curse others at the same time.
The words that come out from our tongues can reflect what kind of wisdom we have in our hearts. Good words fitly spoken is like a treasure, it is said in NIV Proverbs 25:11 "Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a rightly given." If we choose to honour God, we will need to speak righteously!
Lord, thank you for enabling us to have the freedom to speak. Help us to control our tongue so that we can say everything to honour you and praise others. We prayed in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen!
