All hard work brings a profit!

NIV Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. 

One of my favourite verse in recent years is NIV Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters". God assigned us to work at the time when He created humans. The book of Genesis told us that God created Adam and made him work in the Garden of Eden. Since Adam and Eve sinned against God, human needs to work with sweat and toils. The working concept came from God, so we are working for God and our bosses.

NIV Proverbs 14:23 "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty." taught us to work hard instead of providing lip services. Working hard and loyally help us to become God's good servants while speaking boastfully without actual work make us wicked and lazy servants. 

Father, thank you for giving us opportunities to work. We have ups and downs from our work, but we still trust that you are in control and we are working for your glory no matter what the circumstances are. Deliver us from the evil and wicked thoughts, so that we will not sin against you.
