Confess our sins before blaming others!

NIV Luke 6:42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You Hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

We tend to avoid taking up responsibilities when they make mistakes. We can trace back to Adam and Eve when they sinned against God by eating the fruits from the tree of good and evil. Adam shouldered all the responsibilities to Eve and even God. And Eve told God that it was the snake deceived her first. Both of them did not confess for their sins but kept on blaming others.

Jesus taught the disciples in NIV Luke 6:42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You Hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. While we are picking up the minor mistakes of others by pointing a finger at them, we still have three fingers pointing back at us. Before we blame others, we need to remind ourselves to have a "forgiveness" mindset for others coz we need allowances ourselves from God as well.

Lord, thank you for your teaching today. Help us to recognize and confess our sins before blaming others and have a forgiveness mindset on others, just like you have on us. In Jesus' name, Amen!
