NIV 2 Peter 3:14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him.
The Apostle Peter knew that his time to live on the earth was close to an end, so he reminded others to be spiritually alert to evil's temptation and false teachers. God is faithful and He will keep His promise as what He did for the Israelites in the past. Peter said in NIV 2 Peter 3:14 "So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him."
As we have acknowledged Jesus as our savior, we now have faith, love and hope in Him. Like Peter said if we are hoping for Jesus' second coming, we will need to try our best to be Holy and not to sin against God. Refrain from the evil temptation is not easy, but God has sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Start listening to the Holy Spirit's instructions and follow His way.
Father, thank you for Peter's teaching. Help us to live a spotless life by following the Holy Spirit's lead. Deliver us from being deceived by evil and refrain from sinning against you. Forgive us if we do. In Jesus' name, Amen!
