God is one!

NIV Galatians 3:20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

"Engage a mediator to solve the conflicts!" My friend Sally said to her neighbor Nancy after a quarrel on a broken window. In the modern world, when parties have conflicts or disputes with each other and they don't want to go to court, they will go to a mediator for help. We all know that Jesus is the mediator between God and us, but before Him, Moses was the mediator between the Israelites and God.

NIV Galatians 3:20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one. Paul said Moses in the past acted as the mediator to bring the law to the Israelites and make a covenant with God. Both the Israelites and God had the obligation, which required people to obey the covenant before God honor His part. But it is different from the covenant God made with Abraham, in which there is only one God, the covenant of promise can give any blessing to people with God’s love and faithfulness, and people only need to accept it with faith.

Lord, thank you for your covenant of promise with Abraham. Through your son Jesus Christ, we can now accept your blessings through faith. Thank you for your unfailing love and mercy to us. Amen!
