Human pride leads people to sin against God, we can see lots of examples in the Bible or modern society that people went wrong because of their pride. NIV Proverbs 29:23 Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.
In the book of Genesis, we see how Adam sinned against God and denied his responsibility for the sins. The pride in Esau mislead him to think that God’s blessing can be exchanged, sold, stolen, or earned. He blamed Jacob for all the consequences of his sins because of his pride. Due to his pride and sinful acts, he is depicted in Hebrew 12:16 as godless.
Lord, thank you for teaching us to be humble. Pride can blind us and harden our hearts, help us to put down ourselves and humble ourselves when we struggle for making the right decisions in our lives. We prayed in Jesus' victorious name, Amen!
