But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. The God-given freedom is for us to choose not to sin against God, but not for us to indulge the flesh.
With God-given freedom, we now can live out the disposition of Christ, which is to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Before we were saved, we lived with sinful nature and indulge the lusts of the flesh. It was easy for us to have thoughts and actions that offend God. All our evil thoughts must be confessed and repented before God every day, and we must rely on the Holy Spirit to bear the fruit of life because only with the fruit of the Holy Spirit, we can enter the kingdom of God and last forever.
Father, thank you for saving us from sins. With the Holy Spirit, we can fight against the lusts of our flesh. Let the Holy Spirit speak to us every day and night so that we can walk in the right direction, confess and repent for our sins. Amen!
