Repent now!

NIV Acts 19:4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

We are all familiar with the story that after Jesus has been baptized by His kinsman John the Baptist, He went to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Although the human body is weak, Jesus is not tempted by hunger, power, and fame. When Jesus passed the trial and started to preach, John had been put in prison.

John understands his role is to be God's messenger and prepare a way for Jesus. NIV Acts 19:4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” Indeed, like the Apostle Paul mentioned, John's baptism was a baptism of repentance, but Jesus' one was the resurrection and with the Holy Spirit.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus' resurrection. You love us more than we do as you have sent your one and only son to die at the cross for our sins. Help us repent and be filled with the Holy Spirit. We prayed in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen!
